Mayor Vicente Loot survived an ambush by unknown men in Maya Roro Port in Cebu.
Maya Roro Port is the mayors hometown. Men not recognized till now , tried to kill him in his province yesterday morning, 13 May 2018. The ambush took place at around 7 a.m. yesterday. The suspects carried long firearms and wore bonnets and used a van. Police found 19 empty shells of M-16 rifle at the scene.
Witnesses said they saw two gunmen carrying the rifles, while three others acted as lookouts. The suspects remain at large.
Authorities said he was with his wife, son and grandchild. The mayor and his family were alighting from the boat at Maya Port, when the ambush happened.
