A new airport to open today
The new International Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Bohol-Panglao. It will open a gateway for up to two million travelers annually.

“The P8.9-billion airport will be the Philippines’ first “eco-airport,” as per statement released by The Department of Transportation (DoTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
“The opening of its new international airport, will double tourist arrivals by 2020”, a local government official said. He added: “Bohol is an eco-tourism destination. We have a lot of destinations to offer”.
old airport closes
Clients who have flights to Bohol province are advised that they are transferring their operations from the old Tagbilaran airport to the New Bohol Airport in Panglao starting Wednesday Nov. 28.
PAL also said its ticket office at the old airport will remain open until Dec. 15 to service passengers during a three-week transition period. PAL said its check-in counters at the new airport will be able to issue tickets if necessary.
AirAsia was the first to land at the New Bohol Airport here Tuesday, ahead of its formal opening. The carrier’s Airbus A320 from Manila was the first plane to use the new airport, said to be the “green gateway to the world” with its environment-friendly facilities.
Panglao
Panglao, officially the Municipality of Panglao, is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Panglao Island, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 33,553 people.
