Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri) updates


NORTH EASTERLIES (WEAK AMIHAN) is prevailing across the Philippines, bringing partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, cooler conditions with passing light to at times moderate rain showers and possible thunderstorms across BATANES AND BABUYAN ISLAND GROUP, NORTHERN LUZON, CENTRAL & EASTERN LUZON, METROPOLITAN MANILA, BICOL REGION, MIMAROPA, including the KALAYAAN ISLAND GROUP (KIG) & VISAYAS.

More areas were placed under wind signals early Monday, as Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri) slightly intensified ahead of its landfall, the state weather bureau said. The typhoon continued to threaten the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Catanduanes has been placed under wind signal no.3, where 121 to 170 kilometers per hour winds are expected within 18 hours.

Signal no. 2 was hoisted over the following areas:
– Eastern portion of Laguna
– Eastern portion of Batangas 
– Quezon including Polillo Islands
– Oriental Mindoro
– Marinduque
– Romblon
– Camarines Norte
– Camarines Sur
– Albay
– Sorsogon
– Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands
– Northern Samar
– Eastern Samar
– Samar
– Biliran

The following areas were placed under signal no. 1:
– Metro Manila
– Southern Isabela
– Mountain Province
– Ifugao
– Benguet
– Nueva Vizcaya, 
– Ilocos Sur
– La Union
– Pangasinan
– Quirino
– Aurora
– Nueva Ecija
– Tarlac
– Pampanga
– Bulacan

The typhoon is forecast to make landfall over Catanduanes or Albay between Monday night and early Tuesday, PAGASA said.
