Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri) approaches Metro Manila, NAIA closed


The number three signal flag is flying in thePhilippines, signifying an approaching typhoon.

Typhoon Tisoy expected to land on Metro Manila today before noon. Residents in Metro Manila , central Luzon warned to be ready for the typhoon. Evacuation centers are ready to accepted affected Filipinos. The main airport (NAIA) is closed today and all flights are canceled.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 due to typhoon Tisoy, an airport official said Monday.

Between early morning and late afternoon today: Frequent to continuous heavy to intense (with isolated torrential) rains over Bicol Region, Romblon, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, CALABARZON, Metro Manila, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan. Occasional to frequent heavy rains over the rest of Central Luzon. Intermittent heavy rains over Samar Provinces, Biliran, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and the northern portions of Negros Provinces and Cebu.


Between late afternoon today and tomorrow early morning: Frequent to continuous heavy (with isolated intense) rains over Mindoro Provinces, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Rizal, and Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands. Occasional heavy rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Marinduque, Romblon and the rest of CALABARZON. Intermittent heavy rains over Bicol Region and Calamian Islands.
